    whats the difference between a polaris 4010629 (14 degree) flywheel and a 4060223 flywheel?.............bert, anybody? and do different stators have different timing or all basically the same?

    brad the stators are the same as for the flywheel the 223 is 6 degree stock in 2000 and 2001

    grrr............think i may have gotten them mixed up last year.has a 6 degree on it and i had heat/cold seize issues and substancial hp loss most of last year of which i believe 8 degrees of retarded timing would cause.checked everything but that.

    WOW!! Wrong timing and that thing was still faster then sledwhore

    my winning season in 09 was with a 223 6deg flywheel and i didnt even know it,my ignition needed a 14 deg.it will only cause a little power loss,and if anything when you switch to the right flywheel the advance in timing will make the motor much easier to blow up. but,,changes in timing can cause different egt readings as the exhaust gasses will be hotter or colder leaving the cylinder,so if your tuning from egt numbers it could have caused an incorrect jetting calculaton.
