2001 zx chassis....600 summit engine....43 helix.on #5 ...white /white primary spring, stock weights..I dont remember of hand.....front shock moved up an foward, limiters loose....rear slide shimed with belt.....problem....flat slide if I dont commit 100 %....yes maybe to hot into the turn....but If I start to slide and drop more to the right/water. it will grab an turn....also exiting the turn it will want to fish tale while starting to go straight.....looking at set up is there something that I have wrong....is the flap not long enough....not enough cup in the flap...is the handle bar not tall enough ..any help would be great as time on the water is getting shorter....

I would try a longer flap for now. If that doesn't fix it our zx works well with a SCIII skid with snow cross shocks in the stock position with a stiffer center spring, stiffen the rear springs, loose limiter and a flap a little longer than yours. Good luck.

longer flap ......stiffer or a loose one.....I see pic's of some that are really long but no rigidity......also do you think that the flat slide is from the skid unloading in the turn...or is it that the flap is to high and the water is trapped for a short while and when it unloads it flat slides....as of now the front shock is a double skidoo spring, and the rear block is stiff, along with the chunks of belt in the slider.....? other riders have ridden this sled and they were on the edge of flat slide also......I was thinking someone with a zx would show pics of theirs.....to compare skid setup

One thing i noticed with suspensions is that no 2 suspensions I've seen are set up the same. I think your flap is not long enough to grab in the water or your not leaning it over hard enough.

here is a video..... previous owner...yes he drives like a mad man.....13 seconds in you can see it start to slide when going straight.....what causes that....fishtale.....you can also see it is just about to slide and he pulls it deeper in the water to stop it..and when I ride it , if I lean hard enough it will grab the ski and slow the oval down to much....now that I own it I have been goin thru all the wore out parts..trying to get it where I like it ..I also ride it right and left which I know screws things up.get used to it one way and not the other......
