    Default Great Sacandaga Lake 2011

Seem the one foot of fluff has fired up the sled's here, A lot of traffic on the southern end of the Lake yesterday, Most of the trails are still closed in the area, but Southern Adirondak is open with warning's of exposed rock & low snow.

Here's a few lake web Cams......

Lake was great this past weekend. Saturday there was lots of fresh fluff. The Lanzi boys plowed off 2 drag strips. Traffic was light intil approx 3pm. Must be people were busy diggin out still. I heard reports that near the Batcherville bridge around the construction was not easily passable and reports from folks that went north of the bridge said dont bother, too slushy and what not.

There are pressure ridges in the usual spots, lots of ice and now a good base of snow. The mulleyville trails web site noted lots of trail closures. I couldnt get the maps to download so I dont know whats closed. If the storms come to pass this week trail riding should be great this weekend!

We installed Boyesen reeds on my 2010 MZX 800 and the sled is much improved over stock. Discovered some things about the carbs in the sled. Report to follow when I find the time to write it. But noticeable power gains with the Boyesen power valves over stock as compared side by side with BF's RS 800.

Default Boyesen is the way to go

Do you men V-Force? I have tried V-Force reeds. I like the Boyesen reeds more. Better product, better performance gains and awesome customer service! Boyesen is also a sponsor of the site and has given sledfreak members great discounts off products not only for snowmobiles but ATV, dirtbikes, Harleys and PWC.

Well this is a perfect example of people who tell you things that they ABSOLUTELY did not do and have no first hand knowledge of. SD, whomever told this should just be written off as a nobody. Going under the bridge has not changed at all. The main trail that follows the north shore (like always) goes under the bridge and is in no way at all affected by the construction. In fact if you just focused on the trail in front of you, you probably wouldn't even notice that there was bridge work. There isn't even a bump as you go under the bridge. Solid ice and snow. As far as going further north, went to ponderosa pines and never saw a bit of slush or anything. I didn't go any further north than that so I have no idea from there, but there is very little reason to go much more north anyway. I really am losing all faith in people as they can tell such stories and act like they know what they are talking about. It is hard to get any goods info out of anyone these days, but my report is accurate as I was there and did it. Next time you see the person who gave you crap info you should just tell them they are an a-hole.

Thanks for clearing things up with your first hand report. I had no reason/desire to go to that end of the lake so I couldnt verify the reports. Have you been into the Mulleyville trails yet?

I finally have a first hand account of the condition of the lake around the trail head for Turner Road. On 1/22/11 it was a single digit temp day, and there were slushy areas on the lake between the bridge and the trail head. Everything was passable but may un-nerve some less experienced riders.

Turner Rd was mud. Sucked to ride on.

Lake is a great place to ride. Just use your head.

Yes, all the snow is forcing the water through the cracks in the ice. Plenty of ice, but the most slush is north of Ponderosa Pines. I plan on doing the poker run this saturday if anyone wants to join, I have no problem being a guide.

    Default Fridays Ride

Lake Riding Great with good powder for lube, some frozen rut's from the last sluhy storm
Hugh Fishing Tourny from Fri to sun at 4pm keep your eyes open

avoid the charlton trails at all cost's, they were the worst I have ever seen,

The caroga was very good only 3 miles of Bad just above tannery road. With normal march studder bumps the rest of the way in. Tomaltown was flat & fast with dirt showing in spots. Its good to go now! But after weekend from the waterworks south will be shot without some fresh snow.

Replaceing A rear shock, is really starting to make my mind up!!
& I've never seen a carbide break off at the 2 weld's??? Pay to play sport!!
