This should go over well. I have been going sense 1997 and these are definately different rules. I am thinking there is going to be upset people. So much for the $5.00 donation per person, which isnt a big deal that it changed. It should be fun for all the guys who show up in shorts. I guess they will have to go home and get some jeans for they can sweat all day in long pants. My guess is the new rules will work as well as they did when they tried doing a race the one year. I brought pants and raced in shorts and then it was real fun going against a guy with no snow flap. I find it hard to turn a run what you brung event into an organized event. Afterwards they can have redneck races on foot across the field in wet jeans!!!!!!!! LMFAO!

This is a post from another site- I think you get to choose what rules to follow- HAHAHA! posted one week ago

Bring the family, the annual snowmobile pond hop is on! Always the last Sunday in July (the 25th this year). last year there was over 1600 people!

    * Location: about 6 miles outside of Hamilton, NY on Bonney Hill Rd.
    * Time: 12:00-5:00 pm
    * Entry fee: A $10/ person donation is appreciated to help cover the cost of event insurance

    General rules:
NO pets (of any kind), wheelers, grills or open flame source- a pavillion is on the property with a very seasoned fireplace to cook your food on, no glass bottles, respect the hay fields that are used for the pits/ parking or your ass WILL BE thrown out!

    Sleds + requirements:
Open to any sled but MUST HAVE A TETHER TO RUN, and floatation buoy on it (18' deep in the middle, have 20 + feet of rope on it anyways). A helmet, life jacket are MANDATORY also!

** As a "volunteer" pulling out sunken sleds all day on my wheeler, we're not responsible for YOUR STUPIDITY! If you don't wanna take the chance of it sinking, leave it home....
You sink it, you swim in to get it and tie it to something not me (seen them come out upside down with windshields busted, cowls cracked, seats ripped, plastic ski loops tweaked over). I'm just helping to get it out, not my problem how it looks...
last year I got screamed at by a guy because his '07 came out on it's side- (think about how it goes down in 18' of water, does 600 lbs and nose heavy just settle straight down)? Luckily, another "volunteer" stepped in between me as he almost got a fist full- We don't need to put up with that kinda sh!t.
Hope to meet some folks if ya' come out, stop me and introduce yourself. I'll be around on a blue Polaris wheeler, the VIP EZ up set up again this year and you can hang with TNT XP TNT (his Wifey makes good turkey sandwiches)

    Default new rules

I am one of many people who have worked very very hard to keep this event going. There will be pit security ! The rules I put on this post will be enforced !!!! (the long pants is suggested for your own safety not a firm rule)? BUT helmet, life jacket, rope, shoes,AND TETHER a MUST.....
Dont know who the 4-wheeler guy is?
Rusty Bone: if ya dont like the new rules no one is forcing you to come , you have the choice to stay home or come and enjoy the day you choose!
For every one else lets have some safe fun !!!!!!!!!
Hope to see every one there, eric #29 and pit security.

People who piss and moan about the new rules are the one's that will ruin for everyone else anyway. Stay home if you don't like them. I can't believe someone hasen't gotten killed there anyway. Good job Eric trying to make it BETTER>

    Default bacon

Hey bacon you going to help patrol the pits? we could use the help.
bcrock : last year was BAD, very bad ! and we all where very lucky no one was hurt or killed. this year will be much different ,and if its not 100 percent safer than last year than there will not be a pond hop in 2011 !

    Rusty
It may be a REDNECK event but even "rednecks" can get big city laywers if they get hurt because someones stupidity or their own stupidity.
The folks who own the property dont wanna loose it in a lawsuit . The insurance cost for this event is staggering. This is why the $5 donation is now at $10 per head.
Also NO BOOZE in the pitr area I believe?????

I am not complaining. I will definately be there and I am all for the new rules including NO BEER IN PITS. I just didnt see the logic of the long pants. I didnt think it could be inforced. Sorry if I offended anyone- This is a great event and yes it does get out of hand. 10 years ago it wasnt as bad as it is now.
