Yeah, that's nice! I already have my 70's iron or I would take a poke at that. Mine's a 73 with a 74 seat, to explain the sissy bar. Haven't found the right bumper to finish it off.

how about these for classes for the 1 lunger races at the pine tree next year.
1975 and older hr class stock-
1975 and older hd class stock- reed valve yamaha's and 292 lynx's
    1976-1985 stock- enticers, citations,
    1975 and older mod
    1976 -1985 mod
    open class-

Stock classes will be stock but you can bore your cylinders up to .060 because you are dealing with 30+yr old machines, any engine clutch allowed because you can find just about anything for cheap and i think that 102 comets are to heavy for single cyls anyway. secondary clutches must be the one that came on that model but you can tweak and tune them. chassis mods such as widening the front bulkhead are not allowed but you can relocate you rear suspension holes in the tunnel and run ski wideners, engine must match chassis for model year and model.

Mod classes can have porting, any pipe, any primary or secondary clutch, any ignition, chassis mods, any suspension, any skis engine must match chassis for model year and model example a 1972 yamaha cannot run a reed valve 292 engine because they didn't come out until 1974 model year but you could run a piston port rngine because there is no difference from a gp chassis to an sl chassis

open class is open any single cyl any year and mods let it go wild.

These are just some idea's i know that there is more but these are rules similar to that when we started racing locally back in 1995 they were fun and cheap. Now it's all getting to be way too expensive. you should be able to buy and set-up a sled and be competitive in a stock class for about $500-600 That includes studs, carbides, tether switch i will tell you that if you can find a stock single cyl race sled that is set-up and ready to run in the nnyvsr or evsra for $2000 that is cheap because you can't build one for that.

there is a couple of ways to go about the insurance. One is to plan a schedule and get a group rate. The other is to get the snowmobile club or fire dept involved as a fund raiser and get it at a reduced rate. If this is going to happen it needs to started now, so when the times comes we're not left sitting on our thumbs. The insurance is only going to cover spectators. Racers are typicaly not covered. I will get a set of safety rules together and start looking at the insurance thing
